Getting My Mojo

As you can see by this being my second post, I'm a new blogger. Why did I decide to start blogging you ask? Well, I love to write. If I could hook wires to my brain that would relay my thoughts to a computer without even having to speak, that would be the invention of the century! Unfortunately, I don't think that concept is a reality yet and, even more unfortunate, is the fact that I actually do most of my writing in my head.....while I'm driving. Well, that would really be thinking wouldn't it? Anyway, what I mean is, thoughts that I want to write, things that inspire my creative thinking happen at the most inopportune times when I can't sit down with pen and paper....or computer and keyboard. So a lot of my writings sadly disappear just as easily as my morning coffee. Grrr. I have grabbed a pen and paper at times when I'm sitting at a stop light, to write some quick thoughts. I will carry these notes in to work, or home, with me and actually follow through with the writing process. So many ideas have slipped away because of my lack of eight arms and two heads to drive and write at the same time. Until I grow more appendages, or someone finally invents the brainwave reader/scanner/copier/fax, I will work harder to write quick notes at every stop light.

So if you happen to have found my blog, bear with me while I continue to work on this new project of mine...and get the flow of my mojo going. I hope you will enjoy my thoughts, my stories and my inspirations. If you do, let me know. If I made you smile, let me know. Your thoughts, comments, advice and personal inspirations are welcome!

That said.....

I would like to share a few quotes from a book I was reading yesterday that I really like. The book is called "Peace: The Words and Inspirations of Mahatma Gandhi" published by Blue Mountain Press. There are four books in the series and I will name each book in a different blog as I read them and quote from them.

"The only way we can ever be human is together. The only way we can be free is together." A comment made by Archbishop Desmond Tutu about Mahatma Gandhi describing Gandhi's ubuntu. Ubuntu is an African term used to describe ones actions toward their fellow human being, such as kindness, compassion, generosity, doing unto others.

The following are quotes by Mahatma Gandhi:

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"

"A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks he becomes"

"No matter how insignificant the thing you have to do, do it as well as you can, give it as much of your care and attention as you would give to the thing you regard as most important. For it will be by those small things that you shall be judged"

These quotes stood out and spoke to me. There are many more quotes in this book, as well as a short biography about Gandhi's life. It's worth the read. Check it out and see what other quotes might inspire you.

Thanks for reading and Have a Happy Day!
